Building on a History of Philanthropy
Through gifts, Elizabeth Jesser Reid, founder of Bedford College, and Thomas Holloway, founder of Royal Holloway College, created two exceptional institutions. Today, Royal Holloway and Bedford New College continues to provide students with an outstanding education and in doing so we build on the principles of our two founding colleges.
In these difficult financial times, more and more students find it difficult to fund their studies and the College comes under increasing financial pressure in funding the improvements required to maintain its first class facilities and the excellence in teaching and research for which it is so widely known. The support of our alumni, friends and student's parents is crucial in helping the College meet these challenges.
Government Matched Funding Scheme
 There has never been a better time to make a donation since the start of Government's Matched Funding Scheme. All donations made before the end of July 2011 will recieve an additional 50% from the scheme at no cost to donors. The matching includes Gift Aid, which means donations can be almost doubled in many cases!
Its a fantastic time to give to the College and its Annual Fund, where every donation can go so much further in the area your wish to support. We have been delighted than in the first year of the scheme, so many alumni chose to use the scheme to help them give back to the College which gave them so much.

Actually, donations of all sizes make a huge difference. Unrestricted funding is crucial for Royal Holloway as it allows the College to direct the donations wherever the need is greatest, making sure that the maximum benefit to the campus community is provided. Gifts to the Annual Fund have helped shape the campus, support students and fund innovative research.
